Warm and possibly stormy Christmas

Gold Coasters will have a mostly fine Christmas day of 30 degrees with just the chance of a late shower or thunderstorm according to the official forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology as at 4:10pm.

Most of the south-east region is forecast to remain dry for Tuesday 25 December 2012.

It looks like the majority of the severe storm activity will remain in northern NSW, south-west and north Queensland on Christmas day based on the storm forecast mapping from the Brisbane Storm Chasers Homepage.

Temperatures for the south-east Queensland district will be warm, but not as severe as a few weeks ago with temperatures ranging from 30 degrees Celsius around the coasts, 31 for Brisbane city and 34 out west at Ipswich and surrounds.

So it should be a good day for all Christmas activities on the Gold Coast (except maybe for building snow-people!) with good conditions all round. Don't forget to slip, slop, slap if you're in the sun as the UV index will be Extreme (13).
